Tooting & Mitcham United

Simmo is one of the most popular players to wear the Tooting & Mitcham shirt, a real fans favourite. He has had several spells with the Terrors and made his debut in the 2013-14 campaign in an away London Senior Cup tie at Haringey Borough whichwas won by five goals to one.

In  the 2015-16 season we lifted the London Senior Cup by virtue of a 2-0 victory over old rivals in the competition Hendon, Jake Baxter with both our goals, Antonio as usual playing a prominent part in the victory. As he also did in the semi-final when we beat a team we always struggled to defeat at Imperial Fields Dulwich Hamlet to the tune of three goals to nil. The following season he was part of the squad that won the Isthmian League South Division title which saw the Terrors return to the Isthmian League Premier Division with Manager Frank Wilson at the helm.

Simmo would receive a bad injury near Christmas which would rule him out for the rest of that campaign. In the 2018-19 term he was in the side which reached the Surrey Senior Cup Final but a below par performance from the Terrors saw us go down by two goals to nil at the hands of Metropolitan Police.

His former clubs include Godalming Town whom he helped reach the Isthmian League play-offs in 2011-12 only to lose to Bognor Regis Town on penalties. He has also seen service with Carshalton Athletic, Guildford City, Merstham, Staines Town, Sutton Common Rovers and Walton & Hersham.

In the 2024-25 campaign our popular Club Captain reached a milestone playing his 150th game for his beloved Tooting & Mitcham a proud moment for him and the club. In his time with us he has scored ten goals with hopefully more to follow. One of those strikes worthy of mention was a superb volley at Peacehaven in 2015-16.

At the end of the 2024-25 season at the presentation night Simmo won a host of awards that included Supporters & Members Club player of the season plus Managers and Players player of the campaign. He was also a previous winner of the coveted Player of the Season award earlier in his Tooting & Mitcham career, not forgetting all the player of the match awards he has won.

He is a big fan of Italian Serie A side Juventus.

Simmo always made himself available to play in the Jayne Bullock Charity game and ran the London marathon in aid of a Children’s Charity. He is simply one of the best.
