Nicky joined Tooting & Mitcham during the 1973-74 season from Kingstonian and was with us until the end of the 1976-77 campaign when he joined the powerful Enfield side and he would come back to haunt us whilst playing for them.
He had the nickname of ghost because of the way he poached goals and was super quick earning us several penalties due to his speed in the box. Nicky played in all our FA Cup games during the 1975-76 season which resulted in the team reaching the 4th round proper of the competition and scored our first goal in the 2-2 draw at Swindon Town in the third round.
He was also in the team which lost narrowly to Crystal Palace at Sandy Lane in a FA Cup first round proper tie in November 1974.
Nicky also played for Bexley United and Leytonstone. He would make in the region of 190 appearances for the Terrors netting 103 goals a fantastic scoring ratio, in two of the four seasons with us he was our top scorer, he scored on his debut, bagged four hat-tricks and scored four goals in our record 9-0 Isthmian League victory against Clapton in May 1975.
Nicky scored in our 2-1 Surrey Senior Cup Final success against Sutton United in April 1976 and played the following season as we retained the County Cup when we defeated Croydon by a goal to nil.
He also came to our former players 1970’s reunion in October 2022
