Tooting & Mitcham United

Premier League Trophy at Tooting and Mitcham May 2026
Tooting & Mitcham United FC is proud to announce that the club has been awarded 3 Star FA Accreditation, the highest level of recognition available to grassroots and non-league football clubs through England Football’s Accredited Club programme.

The prestigious award recognises excellence in coaching, safeguarding, governance, inclusion, player development, and community engagement. It confirms that Tooting & Mitcham United is operating to the highest standards and providing a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for players, families, volunteers, and supporters.

The achievement marks another major milestone in what has already been a transformational period for the football club.

In recent months, the club has secured league acceptance for its expanding youth section, strengthened community partnerships, improved football provision across multiple age groups, and continued to invest in facilities and infrastructure at both Farm Road and Imperial Fields.

The club’s progress was also showcased on Saturday 30 May when Imperial Fields proudly hosted the Premier League Trophy as part of the annual Paul Smithers Football Tournament.

The event attracted hundreds of young players, parents, and supporters from across the region and demonstrated the growing reputation of Tooting & Mitcham United as a hub for grassroots football and community sport in South London.

For many young players, the opportunity to see one of world football’s most iconic trophies up close was an unforgettable experience and highlighted the ambition of the club to bring major football moments to the local community.

Chairman Dean Morgan believes these achievements are only the beginning.

“Achieving 3 Star Accreditation is a huge moment for our football club because it represents the highest level of recognition available to clubs like ours. It is proof that the hard work being put in across every area of the club is delivering results.”

“I want to thank every volunteer, coach, player, parent and supporter who has contributed to this achievement. This accreditation belongs to all of them.”

“However, while we should be proud of this milestone, we are not here to stand still. We are here to build. We are improving everywhere.”

“From expanding our youth football programme and developing new teams, to improving our facilities, attracting sponsors, increasing community engagement and strengthening our matchday experience, we are raising standards across the board.”

“The Premier League Trophy coming to Imperial Fields, our growing youth section, our community events and now achieving the highest level of FA Accreditation all point in the same direction. Tooting & Mitcham United is moving forward with purpose and ambition.”

Morgan then issued a rallying cry to the wider community.

“My message is simple. Get involved.”

“Whether you are a parent looking for a club for your child, a supporter looking for a team to get behind, a volunteer wanting to make a difference or a business looking to invest in your community, this is your club.”

“Merton has long been famous around the world as the home of Wimbledon Tennis and the remarkable story of AFC Wimbledon. We want Tooting & Mitcham United to play its full part in making this borough a true home of sport.”

“We are building something special here. We are building more than football teams. We are building a community asset that will create opportunities for local people for generations to come.”

“The foundations are now in place. The standards are rising. The ambition is clear. But we cannot do it alone. The next chapter of this club’s history will be written by everyone who chooses to join us on this journey.”

As Tooting & Mitcham United continues to grow on and off the pitch, the award of 3 Star FA Accreditation stands as a powerful statement of intent.

The club is not simply looking back on what it has achieved.

It is focused on what comes next.

Together, we will build a stronger club, a stronger community and a brighter future for football in South London.
